Anybody know how to pronounce "Les Halles"? I get two different stories: (1) "Le Allz" and (2) "Le Zallz". Which is right?

I have it on good authority (???) that this is an exception to the common rule that a final consonant carries over to the initial vowel of the following word...in this case, it is indeed "le al", rather than "lezal" as one would expect from French phonics...
